Opening hours
Due to the high temperatures, we have slightly changed the opening hours in order to take advantage of the low morning temperatures for the making of new ice. Thank you for your understanding!
We reserve the right to change the opening hours in case of adverse weather conditions.
This year, the Ice Kingdom is inviting you to embrace it in a whole new guise. Visitors will find a revamped mill, arches, the Holy Family, thousands of festive lights that shine even brighter this year, and a throne from which you can rule the Ice Kingdom like a king for a moment. New photo corners, some simple games for the little ones and an ice swing for all romantic souls have been added.
The mystical forest in the fairytale part of the kingdom has now become the heart of the last part of the kingdom. You will walk through it to the magnificent Christmas tree that will welcome you to say goodbye.
The Ice Kingdom of Mojstrana will be open as long as the weather and epidemiological conditions allow us. We will inform you about possible changes on our website and on the fb page Ice Kingdom of Mojstrana.

Take a walk along the forest fairytale path that rises along the stream among ice-covered trees, footbridges, streams, lakes and fountains, past the Lourdes chapel and mill to a small Gorenjska village with a church. This year we have added a lot of new things:
– Our ice park has got many interesting animal inhabitants from the skillful carving hands.
– A real-size holy family will be waiting for you in the stable.
– In the gallery you can see photos of our almost 20 years of creation: both theater representatives and the Ice Kingdom, a climbing garden and even dreamy winter wedding

The Icy kingdom is spread out on a large meadow in front of the entrance to the gorge Mlačca in Mojstrana.
At the end of the castle corridor awaits an enormous ice throne, where the youngest companions are able to sit on. Visitors will walk through the park of icy roses and the beauty parlour of frost all the way to the fountain of wishes. The path will guide you past the ice crystal mine and the gallery of polar winds.
It is impossible to count all the sculptures, icicles, arches, flowers, lanterns, pines, fountains and all sorts of ornaments covered in ice on the way to the gorge. Every part of the kingdom has been developed in detail and with precision. The lanterns and torches add a special charm to the whole picture. If you take your time and look hard enough you will notice the illuminated icicles coming to life, vibrating and dancing.

Opening hours in January
The Ice Kingdom will be open for the entire first week of January and all Fridays and weekends in January according to the following schedule: 1.1. and 2.1. from 10 am to 7 pm. 3.1. – 7.1. from 2 pm

Location
Along the Gorenjska (upper Carniola) motorway exiting at Jesenice West – Hrušica exit, then turning left towards Kranjska Gora. Village Mojstrana is approximately 6 kilometers away from the exit. There is a bridge on the left side of the road right after the rest area along the river Sava. This road leads all the way to Mojstrana. One needs to proceed past the ski slope and then turn left on a road uphill, keep left (road towards Kot and Krma)and approximately 500 meters and over a bridge turn right downhill. 50 meters ahead there is a large parking space right next to the tennis courts. From here on out there is a footpath leading towards the center of gorge Mlačca 300 meters ahead.
Another option is to leave the car in Mojstrana near the Viharnik Garden or the Slovenian Alpine Museum and continue on foot along Triglavska cesta, over the green bridge and up the hill. You can reach the gorge in about 5 minutes. If you are going to visit us by camper or bus, we recommend that you choose the latter option.
Other activities
You can come to Mojstrana for a whole day. In addition to the Icy Kingdom, you can also see the Peričnik waterfall, which is less than an hour’s walk away. When it freezes and creates an ice curtain it becomes truly magnificent. For all of you who love mountains and are interested in the history of mountaineering, a visit to the Slovenian Alpine Museum is a must. There you can also take part in the Mount Triglav Challenge (escapebox), The Triglav virtual zipline or you test yourself in the escape room: Escape to the Bivouac!
If you are interested in what Mojstrana looks like from a height, you can go to Grančišče a small rocky hill that proudly rises above Mojstrana. The way to the top will take you just half an hour.
Don’t forget to visit the beautiful Viharnik garden, the work of the local Stanko Brus, which is located next to the Slovenian Alpine Museum. Otherwise, the Viharnik Garden was the first to build a memorial to all the Mojstrana Olympians, of whom there were as many as 21. Now you can find their names on the Olympic Square (opposite the Mercator store)!
You can also continue the trip to Kranjska Gora, the center of winter sports experiences, where you can go skiing, skating, cross-country skiing, easy hiking in the surrounding mountains or warm up with tea and fire in the Alpine village.

Pavel Skumavc, a native of Mojstrana freezes the slopes of the gorge every year creating a unique ice-climbing kindergarden with belay stations where many beginner climbers from all over Slovenia and other countries come to learn how to ice climb for the first time. These cliffs covered in ice is where beginners are in time forged into professional ice climbers. The climbing site will be even more prepared this winter. The site is being maintained by the sports association of ice climbers Mlačca-Mojstrana founded in 28.10.02. Since the climbing site is usually crowded with large groups of climbers from all over the world, there are certain rules that have to be obeyed otherwise anyone breaking such rules will be asked to leave the area. The climbers have to pay an entrance fee. They will constantly be under the supervision of monitors from ŠDLPMM.
